Hello world.

Hi, wonderful to be here in the wondrous world of writing and sharing with you. Look forward to seeing how this mini adventure will evolve.

I have been thinking about writing a blog about all the things and ideas that inspire me and hope that they would also inspire you for a long long time...well about more than 15+ years, crazy. Talk about procrastination. After one year into that initial thought....I had started thinking more and more every year as 'oh well the time has passed, its too late now...the whole world is blogging, vlogging, you tubing, tik-toking, and probably many more I do not know anything about....plus the thoughts of '...there is definitely enough content in the world, do we really need more...' or 'Do I have enough knowledge of the topics that I want to write about....am I certified or experienced enough to share'...." These dubious thoughts kept occupying a place in my mind and the years went by with them. Yet I also realized the other initial thought also never left...and kept saying quietly but persistently...'please just write and see how it goes...pls just start writing'...

So here I am, hello world.

My initial inspiration to write a blog was because of an advertising legend, pioneer, innovator, avid art collector, photographer, and true gentleman; Lester Wunderman.

When I had the chance to meet him, he was in his mid-80s. I mention his age to reflect on how much full of life he was. I had recently graduated from college and after so many interviews, was gratefully accepted to work in the New York office of "Wunderman", a Y&R brands company that he founded in 1958. He was the creator of modern marketing and established the term 'direct marketing' in his 1967 speech to the graduation class of MIT. I used to see him walk into to our office building on Madison avenue, always so well put together with his jacket and tie, holding his traditional leather briefcase. Even 20 years ago, you could barely see anyone wearing a jacket and tie anymore in the advertising world...traditions that were starting to get lost. He was at the time Chairman Emeritus, I was lucky to witness a glimpse of his time and even be in the same building with him, learning the foundations of advertising and marketing from the core source.

Digital marketing and blogging was new concept at the time. I was hugely impressed with how quickly Mr.Wunderman had learned, adapted, and started using this new digital 'tool' to communicate. Even we, the 'new generation of college graduates were trying to grasp how it worked. Mr. Wunderman had started writing his own blog and sharing it company-wide. Years ago, He had already established himself as the father of direct marketing and legend in the Advertising hall of fame; and yet even in this small act compared to all his accomplishments, he was exemplary in exploring, learning, growing and sharing. It was definitely one of the life lessons I learned: always explore, learn and grow - there is no age limit for them.

Now I remind myself, there is no end to learning, but unfortunately also no end to waiting to do something you would like to as well. There is always a reason to wait, yet sometimes waiting can be poisonous. It can diminish your life energy if it takes over....so here I am, no more excuses and no more waiting. To start writing and to keep going.

I also remember, one day, after making a few rounds outside of his office holding his book and trying to have the courage to walk in, I stepped forward and asked him to please sign it for me. Again at the time, no junior like me would walk into a Chairman Emeritus board member's office on the executive floor. I remember how excited and nervous I was, he was like a celebrity in that world, he smiled softly and said sure like a warm-hearted grandfather for all of us learning in his footsteps. Moment to cherish.

Thank you Mr. Wunderman for sharing and being an example of a creator.

As the quote you shared in your book:

"We shall not cease from exploration, And the end of all our exploring will be to arrive where we started And to know the place for the first time." T.S.Eliot

I hope to share inspirations for all to create and live a feel-good lifestyle.

See you again soon and Keep shining.
